How can Gaia AI reach out to my customers ?

Once the Gaia SDK is installed on your property app, the Gaia AI analyses the behaviour of your app users (app usage, push engagement, profile, etc.) and builds profiles to best engage with them. Gaia AI will then influence customers at the right time, place and with the right content.

How does the AI work ?

The AI engine works in 2 ways:

1- Understanding the customer behaviour on the app and in mall (via QR codes scans or BLE sensors)

2- Sending push-notifications automatically, without requesting human monitoring.

Can Gaia AI reach out to my customers upon SDK installation ?

No, the Gaia AI needs to accumulate data for few weeks to create customer behaviour patterns to determine which content matches which targets.

How is the Gaia Platform different from my existing CMS ?

How do I get started ?

There are 3 steps to get on board:

1- Download our Gaia Software Development Kit (SDK) and install it on your app. Our support team can assist you during the set-up.

2- Activate the push-notifications your app users will receive either on a timely basis, near your property or at their next visit. You can choose to use our library of templates or upload your own content.

3- Choose your suitable subscription period and payment method

What formats of push-notifications can I choose ?

There is a wide range of formats, from text, image, video, audio, URL link, PDF, feedback and app native pages.

What formats of image can I upload to the push-notification ?

Accepted formats include png, jpg, jpeg, gif and bmp with maximum size of 500kb.

What is the difference between 'Area' and 'Location' ?

An 'Area' (range up to 80m) is an area equipped with one BLE beacon inside the property.

A 'Location' (range minimum 100m) is a GPS spot around the property or elsewhere. The mix of Areas and Locations offer a seamless experience in- and outside the property.

What is the difference between Bluetooth-based and time-based push-notifications ?

App users receive Bluetooth-based push-notifications only when they are in the range of a beacon, with Bluetooth active and location shared.

Whereas a time-based push-notification is sent in a specific time no matter where app users are located.

What types of customer data is used by Gaia ?

Anonymous customer data is used by default and includes the app usage, push-notifications usage and property visit. In the Gaia Admin Console, you can decide which app profile categories Gaia AI accesses (<name>, <VIP tier>, <loyalty points>, etc.). The more profile data we access, the more personalised are push-notifications. The access to app profile data is however optional.

Is my data used to train the Gaia AI engine across properties ?

The Gaia AI engine is private for each property. As any property has its own layout and specific journeys, the AI-powered results are on property level to ensure high accuracy and low latency.

Is my data stored with other accounts' data ?

No, the data of your account is partitioned and kept completely separate from other accounts' data.

Is my data securely stored and processed ?

Our infrastructure got the SSLAB Rating 'A' along with the AES-256 encryption (at Rest, in Use, in Motion), the world's most secure protocol and protection for data transmission in every status . All AWS services we use have certifications for compliance with ISO/IEC 27001:2013, 27017:2015, 27018:2014, and ISO/IEC 9001:2015.

What are the Security Tools used by the Gaia Platform ?

We use AWS Shield Standard for DDoS Protection. For automatic detection and mitigation of volumetric network (OSI layer 3) and sophisticated application (layer 7).

We use AWS WAF 2 with all instances of server, Storage Service and API Gateway for: bad bot and scraper protection, SQL injection protection, cross-site scripting protection, scanner and probe protection, IP address whitelist/blacklist, known attacker protection and HTTP flood protection.

Along with Firewall Server, EC2 instances also have Security Group and ACLs. Security groups control both inbound and outbound traffic at the instance level, while ACLs act as a firewall for associated subnets, controlling both inbound and outbound traffic at the subnet level.

Which compliance and certification has the Data Centre attained ?

AWS supports several security standards and compliance certifications to satisfy compliance requirements for every regulatory agency: ISO/IEC 27001:2013 (Information Security Management System), ISO 27017:2015 (cloud computing security), 27018:2019 (protection of personal data in the cloud), ISO/IEC 9001:2015 ( Quality Management System) and CSA STAR CCM v3.0.1 (Cloud Security Management System).

What type of hardware is used and how to set it up ?

No hardware is mandatory as we can use geofencing and on-site QR codes to engage with app users nearby and in the mall. For a stronger coverage in your property, we can deploy or use existing Bluetooth Low Energy 5.0 (BLE) sensors, also called beacons. With a range up to 80m, beacons' signals are captured by app users in large indoor and outdoor settings.

Can I use my existing beacons and connect them to the Gaia Platform ?

Yes, if there are already beacons on-site, we can use them to capture traffic analytics and send location-based push-notifications. To connect your beacons to our Platform, go to 'Gaia Admin Console' > 'Sensor Management' and simply input the beacon settings.

How many beacons should I deploy in my property ?

Beacons should only be deployed in strategic areas to capture key traffic analytics (entrances, tenants). A minimum of 30 beacons is recommended to deliver space correlation and conversion analytics.

Can I use my existing hardware and connect them to the Gaia Platform ?

If your hardware is compatible with our platform, login your account, go to the 'Gaia Admin Console', then 'Sensor Management' and simply input the hardware settings.

Do I need to manage hardware battery myself ?

We get you covered - we handle a remote hardware management system and maintenance for battery replacement.

How can I subscribe to more services ?

On your account, go to 'Gaia Admin Console' > 'Billing'. Then select the other services that suits your needs.

Can I terminate my subscription anytime ?

If you have subscribed for a monthly subscription, you can cancel it anytime. Go to 'Gaia Admin Console > 'Billing' > 'Dashboard' > 'Cancel'.

The next scheduled payment will be cancelled automatically while you can still use the Gaia platform until the subscription ends.

What are the payment terms ?

Full payment for invoices must be received (30) days after the issuing date of the invoice. Unpaid amounts are subject to a finance charge of 1.5% per month on any outstanding balance and may result in immediate termination of the services.

What are the services?

Our Hospitality Platform offers 3 services: the Guest Recognition helps staff receive guest data automatically when guest approaches and builds the guest journey across facilities (all types of keys & Gaia staff app). The Personalised App Journey understands and elevates the guest journey on the hotel app via a rich personalised outreach on- and offsite (Gaia SDK on hotel app, optional BLE sensors).

Can I locate guests in my property ?

No, staff and management cannot locate any guest in the property. A guest profile appears on devices of staff located near the guest. The manager can also be informed when a particular guest (e.g. VIP) enters a facility, like the restaurant, to greet them.

How does Gaia work when an in-house guest approaches a facility?

When an in-house guest approaches a facility, their key's signal is captured by the staff device at the facility entrance. Staff immediately receives by voice and text the right guest data corresponding to this facility (e.g. booking, allergies, preferences, etc.).

Is Gaia GDPR compliant ?

Our company is fully GDPR compliant and uses AWS best practices for data protection and cloud security. The personal data used by Gaia has been shared by guests. By default, our system deletes the personal data after guest check-out. It is possible to keep the data for repeat guests or to offer a consistent journey across hotels.

How does the AI work ?

1- Managing the volume of insights for staff

2- Measuring the predictive occupancy across facilities

3- Building common guest journeys in the property

How does it work when several guests arrive at the same time ?

It is based on 'first come, first served'. When a guest is closer to a staff than other guests, his / her profile appears at the top of the app. Staff receive by voice the data of the nearest 3 guests.

How staff can receive insights specific to their departments ?

Staff define their department on the Gaia staff app. Based on their department, they receive guest insights specific to their department.

What if guests swap their key cards ?

Staff receive the guest profiles allocated to that room number, even if only one card is detected.

Can the Gaia insights be voice-based ?

Yes, the Gaia insights are user-friendly guest profiles and recommendations sent to staff to facilitate their daily duties and avoid searching guest data. Gaia insights are sent by voice and text on phone, tablet, PC and smartwatch.
